Accessibility Policy
Please find below some information which we hope will ensure you enjoy your stay at Stansfield House regardless of whether your life is affected in some way by a medical condition, disability, impairment or specific learning disability.
Prior to your arrival
You can make reservations either on line or by phone and we are happy to offer additional information on stairs, parking etc. We do accept service dogs
On arrival
We have a designated car parking next door to Stansfield which is suitable for disabled parking . Entrance to Stansfield is paved with no steps until you reach the door. We are happy to help you with luggage if you wish. Service dogs are welcomed.
Reception Area
There is an initial doorstep into the house where there is matting and carpeting. The shower/toilet is on the ground floor and this area is tiled. (We can offer a commode facility if requested for use upstairs)
Upstairs areas
These are carpeted except the kitchen area which has linoleum. Stansfield House is not suitable for wheelchair users. (There are 13 stairs with a handrail)
Safety Features
Stansfield House is a non-smoking establishment and is fitted with smoke alarms. There are no flashing lights but there is a fire blanket in the kitchen. Evacuate the building and alert us nearby if you need any assistance – Phone the fire service 999 for immediate attention if you suspect a fire.
Bedroom
The double bed bedroom is small and not suitable for a wheelchair –the lounge sofa does converts to a double bed if required.

The nearest Doctors surgery is in Peel. Mrs Talbot is a retired nurse. The telephone number for the surgery and other emergency numbers are posted on the notice board in the utility room.
